When did I know I loved traveling?

I was a freshman in college when I went in my first trip without my family. This was a service trip to San Francisco to help the people who are homeless there. I was very empowered during this trip because I made my first decision on my own to travel and I told my parents after I made the decision I was going (regardless of what they would say). Even though we were there to volunteer, being in a new city and exploring it with my friends made me feel very happy and alive. I just really liked that feeling of being in a new place where I have never been before. That feeling is what i kept longing for.

Why do I do it?

That indescribable feeling you get every time you step into a new place. That feeling of connection you have with other travelers and the locals from that town. The food..the local street food.  The feeling of love and connection you feel walking down a street and you see locals chatting, laughing and living their life and you realize we are all human beings living similar life in different parts of the world. The bittersweet feeling of leaving a country you made such sweet memories in, yet you feel like you are leaving as a change person carrying a piece of that country with you. The intense friendships and connection you make with other travelers because you know you have such a short time together so you show them your best self/ vice versa which makes it to best conversations and best nights you have had and you realize those are the moments to live for. I feel like my soul awakens more every time I travel. I get the inspiration and I am part of something big and my work is to make an impact in this world before i leave.

What do I do when I am not traveling?

I live and work in NYC. I work as a Digital Media Planner at an advertising agency Zenith Optimedia. Work takes up most of my time in NYC and I really enjoy my job. I love yoga and live music and drinking wine with my friends in the city.
